Tickets FAQs
Q: Can I sell my tickets on Trade Me?
A: All ticket purchasers agree to abide by the NZI Sevens terms and conditions before buying tickets. Our ticketing terms and conditions outline that tickets can be re-sold at their face value (price they are listed on our website) on Trade Me. This can be achieved by offering tickets at a ‘Buy Now” price on Trade Me. If tickets are offered for sale or sold on Trade Me at a price exceeding their face value, i.e. tickets are offered for sale by auction, our terms and conditions have been breached. Sellers by auction run the risk of then having their tickets cancelled and resold by the Tournament to other purchasers.
Q: Can I buy tickets on Trade Me?
A: The NZI Sevens cancels many tickets due to ticket loss, seat repositioning, reports of theft, fraud etc. While some sellers on Trade Me may be selling valid tickets, purchasers run the risk of purchasing cancelled/invalid tickets. This will not be able to be determined by looking at the ticket. Our barcode ticketing system will not accept cancelled tickets and buyers will not be able to gain entry into Westpac Stadium.
Q: How many tickets go on sale to the public?
A: NZI Sevens makes up to 27,000 tickets available to the public. Our process is to offer tickets to provincial rugby unions; Wellington Rugby season ticket holders; Westpac Stadium Members; clubs, schools and referees in the Wellington region; hospitality and travel package guests; and volunteers and others assisting the tournament. Once these general public allocations have been confirmed with these groups of the rugby community, the remaining tickets are then sold to the general public in late September. This is usually around 8,000 tickets.
Q: Do the ticket prices include both days?
A: Yes the ticket prices above include both days - the Friday and Saturday.
Q: Can I bring food and drink into the stadium?
A: Patrons may bring the following food & drink items; sealed plastic water bottles up to 1 litre in size (empty plastic water bottles may be filled in the Venue from water outlets located at aisles 6, 11, 23 & 28 – the 1 litre restriction still applies), small amounts of food for personal consumption, such as sandwiches, fruit, chippies, cakes etc, contained in one small bag per ticket holder. The bag must be soft-sided and fit under your seat. Please note that ample food and beverage outlets are easily accessible at the Venue.
Q: I've lost my ticket - what do I do?
A: If a Ticket has been lost or stolen prior to the event, the Ticket Holder may request cancellation of the Ticket and issue of a lost ticket pass from Ticketmaster. A fee of $40.00 will apply for each Pass. If a Ticket has been lost or stolen on either day of the event, the Ticket Holder may request cancellation of the Ticket and issue of a lost ticket pass from Ticketmaster at the venue. A fee of $40.00 will apply for each Pass.
Q: Are there any restrictions on what I can wear for my costume?
A: We love your original costume ideas that really make the NZI Sevens the dress up party of the year, but please make sure you’re not denied entry to Westpac Stadium by wearing something too risqué. We'd hate for you to miss out on the party! Westpac Stadium has a dress code policy that states all 'clothing must conform to reasonable standards of decency'. Amongst other things this means no nudity or g-strings (unless you're wearing another piece of clothing under the g-string like leggings).
You can check out the full Westpac Stadium dress code details here
Q: Can I bring props in as part of my costume?
A: Due to issues at past sevens events the police have requested that no props that can be used as a weapon be brought into the stadium for this event (no guns, bow & arrows, skates, swords, rackets, bats etc). We suggest only blow up items.
Q: How much does car parking at the stadium cost?
A: The standard event parking charges apply - $30 per day
Q: Can I leave and re-enter the stadium?
A: Exit turnstiles will be in operation which will allow re-entry with a valid ticket.
Q: What time does the tournament run on each day?
A: Friday: 1pm - 10.30pm (approx) and Saturday: 1pm - 9.30pm (approx)
